Indigo Scientific Advisory LLC (d/b/a Indigo Scientific) provides high-stakes consulting at the intersection of science, law, and regulation. Our experts deliver evidence-based strategies for clients navigating complex medicolegal matters and regulatory pathways. Within our medicolegal arm, we provide litigation support and expert consulting to legal teams in high-stakes criminal and civil cases. Our work includes neuroimaging and behavioral science analysis, case strategy support, expert testimony preparation, and rebuttal responses.

We are currently seeking a qualified full-stack developer to build out a secure, web-based application. This is a 1099 project-based role. This project requires advanced, non-template development. AI-generated code or off-the-shelf libraries will not suffice.

Responsibilities:

·  Implement precise mapping between scores and anatomical regions defined by a standardized atlas (Harvard–Oxford; Desikan–Killiany optional for future modules).

·  Build a dynamic 2D brain heat-map visualization with region-level highlighting, scaled by quantitative values.

·  Build optional 3D atlas functionality (expandable for future research modules), using WebGL, Three.js, BrainBrowser, or compatible frameworks.

·  Implement secure patient-level data handling workflows (upload, preprocessing, region assignment, report generation).

·  Ensure role-based access, secure login, and encrypted storage consistent with HIPAA-aligned practices (we are not a covered entity, but security is required).

·  Build a modular, scalable architecture to support a monthly subscription model for researchers, clinicians, and medical-legal experts.

·  Integrate automated report generation (PDF or HTML export) for clinical use.

·  Coordinate with the Principal Consultant (Indigo Scientific) for iterative testing, refinement, and validation.

Technical Stack (preferred):

·  Frontend: React, Shiny, or Next.js (React preferred, but not required if equivalent).

·  Backend: Python (FastAPI), Node, or R-based server architecture.

·  Visualization: Three.js, WebGL, BrainBrowser, Plotly, or custom.

·  Neuroimaging: Familiarity with NIfTI, FreeSurfer structures, atlas labels, and voxel- or region-based mapping.

·  Security: JWT authentication, encrypted file handling, API rate limiting.

Qualifications:

·  Demonstrated experience building scientific or medical web applications.

·  Strong proficiency in neuroimaging data visualization, anatomical atlases, or equivalent specialized domains.

·  Evidence of prior work involving 3D rendering, medical imaging, or atlas-based mapping (portfolio or GitHub required).

·  Ability to design secure systems handling sensitive data.

·  Ability to work independently and deliver high-precision code in a research-adjacent setting.

·  Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with a highly technical Principal Investigator.

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Familiarity with cognitive testing workflows.

·  Experience integrating payment systems for SaaS products.

·  Experience with Shiny-to-React migrations.

·  Experience with HIPAA-aligned privacy controls.

Compensation:

We anticipate our consultant earning a total project compensation in the range of $4,000-$12,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and type of engagement (MVP, final product, etc.).

Growth Potential:
While this role is project-based, there is future potential to contribute to Indigo Scientific’s growth as a collaborative think tank. Consultants interested in thought leadership, research development, or shaping new service offerings may have opportunities to expand their role over time.
